About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team at one of our locations in Salzgitter, Hannover, or Sarstedt. This position is a fixed-term contract until December 30, 2027. As a Data Engineer in our team, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining data-driven solutions that support our network and asset management processes. Your work will directly influence the digital transformation of our energy networks, enabling smarter, more efficient operations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, translating complex data requirements into scalable technical solutions, and ensuring the seamless integration and availability of data across various systems and platforms.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field, or possesses equivalent professional experience. You should have practical knowledge of modern data engineering tools and technologies, including Power BI, Databricks, Python, Git, CI/CD pipelines, REST APIs, and SQL. Strong analytical and conceptual skills are essential, along with the ability to design and implement efficient data models. Proficiency in German and English at C1 level is required to effectively communicate with diverse teams and stakeholders. A proactive, structured, and process-oriented working style, combined with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, will ensure success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Datenintegration & Datenflüsse: Actively contribute to shaping future data topics by developing and optimizing data flows and interfaces between systems, ensuring robust data exchange for network and asset processes.
• Datenbereitstellung & Harmonisierung: Consolidate data from operational systems such as control systems, measurement data, geoinformation, and asset management to make it accessible and usable for analytical and operational purposes.
• ETL Design & Implementierung: Design, develop, and operate ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading, with a focus on Power BI integration for reporting and dashboarding.
• Datenmodellierung & Analyse: Analyze data structures from various sources, develop scalable data models, and perform data analysis to support decision-making and process optimization.
• Cloud- & Systemlandschaften: Assist in building, configuring, and monitoring cloud and database infrastructures, supporting the ongoing development of interface processes and system integrations.
• Use Case Aufbereitung & Integration: Prepare data tailored to specific use cases, enabling its deployment in digital network processes, analytical models, and operational applications.
• Reporting & Analytics: Develop modern reporting and analytics solutions, primarily using Power BI, ensuring continuous and reliable data provision for business needs.
• Anforderungsanalyse & Architektur: Collaborate with business units to analyze requirements, develop IT concepts and architectures, and oversee the technical implementation with internal and external stakeholders.
