Software Engineer (m/w/d)
A well-established business known for its global leadership in the insurance and reinsurance sector is looking for a Software Engineer (m/w/d). This role involves designing and maintaining critical mainframe systems while collaborating with business and IT teams to translate requirements into technical solutions. You will work within a large-scale IT infrastructure to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality application code.
What you'll be doing
• Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe Cobol and DB2 stored procedures
• Support and learn custom C-based frameworks within the system landscape
• Translate business requirements into formal technical specifications and code
• Collaborate with DBA and server teams to ensure successful project implementation
• Execute unit tests and integration plans to validate technical specifications
What we're looking for
• Degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent professional experience
• Proficiency in COBOL, DB2, JCL, SQL, and Mainframe programming
• Experience with Endevor, Quick3270, and database modelling techniques
• Strong troubleshooting skills for incident resolution and business support
• Professional communication skills in both German and English
