About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Frontend Developer for our Webshop team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the technical evolution of the hygi.de online platform. Your primary focus will be on enhancing and maintaining the existing system while progressively integrating modern architectural approaches such as API-first, headless models, and cloud-native frontend architectures. You will develop reusable, scalable components and contribute to a seamless user experience, emphasizing functionality, performance, and accessibility. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the long-term strategic development of our webshop, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers and business objectives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with expertise in front-end development, particularly in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js or React. You should have a thorough understanding of component-based architecture, with an emphasis on reusability and separation of concerns. Experience with modern build tools like Webpack, Vite, or Encore, as well as version control systems such as Git, is essential. A good grasp of responsive web design principles, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization—especially in relation to Core Web Vitals—is required. Familiarity with RESTful and GraphQL APIs, technical SEO basics, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) is also important. Additional skills in testing tools (e.g., Cypress, Playwright), API design, and system architecture are advantageous. The successful candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking, proactive problem-solving, and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.

Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will include developing and maintaining modern, reusable frontend components that enhance the user interface and experience. You will implement responsive, performant, and accessible web pages, ensuring they are compatible across different browsers and devices. Integration with backend APIs and existing systems will be a key part of your role, requiring close collaboration with backend developers and other stakeholders. You will uphold high code quality standards through code reviews, comprehensive documentation, and adherence to architectural best practices. Additionally, you will analyze system performance, usability, and technical SEO metrics, identifying opportunities for optimization. As part of your role, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and stay abreast of emerging frontend technologies and architectural trends, applying these insights to improve our platform’s efficiency and user engagement.
