- Engineering: Building a Kubernetes-based foundation for Kiteworks’ products, ensuring automation, security, and scalability.
- CI/CD Standardization: Designing templates and guides for container image builds, ensuring compliance and security.
- Cloud Integration: Supporting hosted customers on AWS and Azure, maintaining build tools and GitLab runners on EKS.
Your day-to-day:
- Designing and improving the infrastructure behind Kiteworks’ products, with a focus on availability, security, and Kubernetes-based automation.
- Building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform and Ansible for deployments, monitoring, and operational work.
- Maintaining and evolving CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI to support reliable and compliant software delivery.
- Working closely with DevOps, application engineering, and QA to keep build and release processes smooth.
- Managing cloud resources across AWS and Azure, including VMs, storage, networking, and load balancers.
- Implementing Kubernetes operator patterns to support day-two operations such as backups, disaster recovery, and maintenance.
- Supporting compliance with FedRAMP, FIPS, and other security standards across build and deployment processes.
- Monitoring and improving system reliability, security, and performance using logging, alerting, and observability tools.
- Keeping infrastructure and process documentation clear, current, and useful.
What you’ll bring:
- A degree in computer science or comparable hands-on experience. Formal or earned the hard way, both count.
- Several years of experience in DevOps, software engineering, or a closely related role.
- Strong Linux administration skills and comfort working close to the system.
- Solid experience with containers and orchestration, especially Docker and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on work with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. GCP experience is also welcome.
- Proficiency in Golang as your main automation language, with Python in your toolkit.
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience working with CI/CD tooling such as GitLab CI and Artifactory.
- Familiarity with microservices architectures and Kubernetes-native development.
Nice to have:
- Experience working with networking concepts and protocols like VPN and HTTPS.
- Exposure to security tooling such as vulnerability scanners or static analysis.
- A problem-solving mindset and a habit of optimizing things that could work better.
