About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer to join our dynamic team at Dotbase. In this role, you will work closely with our CTO and engineering team to develop and enhance systems that power our healthcare platform, primarily used in hospitals across Germany. Your expertise will be instrumental in building scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend services, ensuring that our platform can handle increasing data loads and user demands. You will take ownership of critical components within our product roadmap, collaborating with product managers and designers to deliver end-to-end features that directly impact patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in TypeScript and Node.js, with a passion for building high-quality software solutions that adhere to healthcare data standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience developing production-grade backend services using TypeScript, with a proven track record of designing scalable architectures.
- Deep understanding of service-to-service communication patterns, especially with GraphQL.
- Hands-on experience working in B2B SaaS environments, particularly with data-heavy or API-first products.
- Strong knowledge of cloud and hybrid deployment strategies to ensure system reliability and scalability.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- (Bonus) Familiarity with medical software, healthcare data standards such as FHIR, or experience working in healthcare IT environments.
- Currently residing in Berlin or within daily commuting distance and authorized to work in Germany.
Responsibilities
Work side-by-side with our CTO and our engineering team to develop systems that power our platform in hospitals and allow us to continuously ship great features.
- Lead backend work, helping us to scale reliably across cloud and hybrid deployments
- Take ownership of key components in our product roadmap and collaborate with our product and design teams to deliver features end-to-end
- Drive the design, enhancement, and optimization of our software architecture to ensure scalability, efficiency, and maintainability
- Champion thorough testing to ensure high-quality software releases
