About The Role
We are seeking a talented Software Developer specializing in UI development with expertise in Java and frontend technologies to join our dynamic team in Karlsruhe. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and enhancement of our Leitstellensoftware (control center software), which plays a crucial role in managing and operating public transportation systems efficiently. Your focus will be on creating intuitive, user-friendly graphical interfaces that facilitate seamless control and monitoring of public transit operations. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from initial concept through deployment and maintenance, ensuring our solutions meet high standards of quality and usability.
Qualifications
To excel in this position, candidates should possess a relevant technical degree in IT or a comparable qualification. Proven experience in Java development, especially with Eclipse RCP or JavaFX, is essential. A strong understanding of software architecture and design principles is highly desirable, along with familiarity with cloud-based deployment environments. Excellent communication skills in both German and English are required to facilitate effective collaboration within international teams. Creativity, problem-solving skills, and an enthusiasm for developing innovative solutions are key attributes for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include the comprehensive development and continuous improvement of our user interface for Leitstellen-Software, ensuring it is both efficient and user-centric. You will:
- Participate actively in the entire software development process, from planning to deployment.
- Design and implement graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for our applications, ensuring an intuitive user experience.
- Develop and integrate JavaFX components into our RCP (Rich Client Platform) applications.
- Contribute to the creation and refinement of use cases, translating requirements into functional software solutions.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure adherence to agile methodologies, particularly Scrum practices.
- Engage in code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain high-quality standards.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate best practices into development workflows.
