About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Developer with a strong background in backend and cloud application development to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining our neonpulse platform, which is critical in processing and managing IoT and sensor data securely and efficiently. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing scalable backend processes, designing and implementing REST and gRPC APIs, and creating frontend components using JavaScript and React for internal tools and dashboards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams—including cloud, backend, frontend, and operations—is essential to ensure seamless integration, stability, and continuous improvement of our platform. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative solutions that support the energy transition and digital infrastructure modernization. The role is initially limited to a two-year contract, with potential for extension based on project needs and performance.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, complemented by relevant professional experience.
• Minimum of five years of experience in cloud and backend development, preferably within IoT or platform environments.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and relational database management, especially Microsoft SQL.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, with practical knowledge of GitLab CI or similar automation tools.
• Experience in developing web user interfaces or tools using JavaScript and React, or a strong motivation to acquire these skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, structured working approach, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Effective communication skills in German (C1 level) and English (B2 level), enabling clear collaboration across diverse stakeholders.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate middleware services for the neonpulse platform, ensuring secure and high-performance processing of telemetry data between IoT backends and third-party systems.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve cloud applications using Java and Spring Boot, focusing on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Optimize database interactions by designing efficient SQL queries and utilizing Hibernate and JPA for performant data access.
• Manage deployment processes and oversee the operation of cloud services within Microsoft Azure, leveraging Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to automate build, testing, and deployment workflows, ensuring stability and rapid delivery.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and gRPC/Protobuf interfaces for robust service-to-service communication.
• Develop internal tools and frontend components with JavaScript and React, including dashboards, configuration interfaces, and monitoring solutions.
• Collaborate closely with cloud, backend, frontend, and operations teams to support platform evolution and implement new features.
• Participate in technical decision-making processes, ensuring best practices and innovative approaches are adopted across the platform.
