About The Role

We are seeking a skilled IT-Anwendungsentwickler / Data Engineer (m/w/d) to join our dynamic team in Hamburg. In this role, you will be instrumental in operating and expanding our self-developed Data Warehouse, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and efficiency. Your primary responsibilities will include automating data extraction, loading, and reporting processes using Base SAS, as well as supporting the conception, development, and modeling of data solutions with tool support. You will work closely with various Fachbereiche (business units) to analyze data requirements, provide insights, and support data-driven decision-making. Additionally, you will advise and collaborate with teams on projects related to Data Warehouse enhancements, contributing your expertise to optimize data management and analytics capabilities. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a completed degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or hold a comparable vocational qualification such as Fachinformatiker, complemented by an agile mindset. Proven professional experience in Data Warehousing and application development is essential. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of SAS programming language, data modeling, and system design. Familiarity with database systems such as DB2 or other SQL-based platforms is required. Additional skills in Linux, TSO, JCL, and TWS are advantageous. Candidates should also have solid understanding of standard software tools, including office applications and operating systems. A self-driven, structured, and results-oriented working style is vital, along with excellent communication skills, flexibility, and team-oriented collaboration. Digital competence and a willingness to independently familiarize oneself with new topics are highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Operate and expand a proprietary Data Warehouse to support business needs and strategic initiatives.
• Automate data extraction, transformation, and reporting processes utilizing Base SAS to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.
• Contribute to the conception, development, and modeling of data solutions with the support of specialized tools.
• Perform detailed analyses based on business requirements using SAS Enterprise Guide, providing insights to various departments.
• Collaborate with and advise business units on Data Warehouse projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and data governance standards.
• Maintain and optimize existing data systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
• Stay updated with emerging data management technologies and best practices to continually improve data processes.
