About The Role

The DevOps Engineer & Java Developer (m/w/d) Input-Management mit SmartFix & DocAI position at SIGNAL IDUNA Gruppe offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of digital transformation in the insurance sector. This role is designed for professionals passionate about developing robust, scalable, and innovative IT solutions. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of microservices, including design, development, deployment, and operation within a cloud environment. The role emphasizes a blend of software engineering and DevOps practices, requiring hands-on expertise in Java, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will work within an agile squad, contributing to strategic projects that improve input management processes and enhance automation through SaaS solutions like Google’s DocAI and SmartFix. Your efforts will directly impact the company's ability to deliver efficient, automated customer service and data processing capabilities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in (Business) Informatics, IT-related vocational training, or possess equivalent practical experience. You should have initial experience in configuring and operating cloud environments, preferably on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Spring, Angular (optional), and Python is essential, along with experience in building microservices using REST APIs. Familiarity with cloud functions, infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, and test frameworks such as JUnit, Jest, and Cypress is required. Additionally, experience with monitoring tools like Splunk and Grafana, as well as version control systems like GitLab, will be advantageous. A strong understanding of clean coding principles, agile methodologies, and a proactive approach to learning new architectures and technologies are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain DevOps practices, including automation of testing (JUnit, Jest, Cypress) and CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, ensuring high-quality software delivery.
• Manage the daily operations of developed microservices and third-party software solutions such as SmartFix from Insiders, including installation, configuration, and continuous improvement.
• Take technical ownership of products, refactor code for better structure, and ensure robust monitoring using tools like Splunk and Grafana.
• Design and develop scalable, future-proof architecture for input management systems utilizing Google Cloud technologies.
• Enhance and optimize logic to enable automatic recognition and processing of customer inquiries, improving overall automation levels.
• Engage with SaaS solutions like Google’s DocAI, understanding their functionalities and integrating them into existing workflows.
• Develop and implement reliable connectors within insurance-specific enterprise architectures, ensuring seamless data flow and system interoperability.
