About The Role

As a Security Engineer at AHD GmbH & Co. KG, you will be a vital part of our security organization, responsible for maintaining and enhancing our cybersecurity posture. You will create transparency regarding vulnerabilities, coordinate security measures, and ensure the protection of both our internal systems and our clients' environments. This hybrid role combines the responsibilities of a Security Engineer and a Patch Manager, offering a dynamic and impactful position with opportunities to influence security strategies and processes. Your work will involve assessing risks, managing patch cycles, operating security services, and supporting incident response efforts, all aimed at safeguarding digital assets and maintaining compliance with security standards.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with a solid foundation in IT and cybersecurity. A completed IT apprenticeship, university degree, or equivalent practical experience in the security domain is essential. You should possess comprehensive knowledge of vulnerability management, patch management, and endpoint security solutions. Familiarity with security standards and technologies such as MITRE ATT&CK, SIEM, EDR, and antivirus solutions is required. A strong understanding of IT infrastructures, including networks, servers, virtualization, and cloud environments, is necessary. Candidates must demonstrate analytical thinking, structured working methods, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Excellent communication skills in both German and English are essential for effective collaboration and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform vulnerability and risk assessments by evaluating monthly security scans and collaborating with SOC and operations teams to implement necessary measures.
• Manage the patch and update process, including planning, automation, and coordination to ensure timely deployment of security updates across customer and internal systems.
• Operate and continuously improve security services such as Microsoft XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, ESET Antivirus, logging, and system hardening to maintain optimal security levels.
• Conduct regular security analyses, provide recommendations, and implement improvements as part of ongoing customer advisory services.
• Support onboarding and integration of new clients into the SOC environment, ensuring seamless technical integration and fine-tuning of security configurations.
• Contribute to the proactive development of our SOC service offerings by identifying new security and optimization opportunities.
• Assist in analyzing security incidents and provide technical support during incident response activities to minimize impact and facilitate recovery.
