About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineer & PQL Developer (m/w/d) to join our Output-Management team. In this strategic role, you will be instrumental in professionalizing and maintaining the stability of the Output-Management (OPM) system at SIGNAL IDUNA. The ideal candidate will have a passion for operating third-party software with customization components, particularly within a cloud infrastructure environment. You will be responsible for managing one of our core systems, Papyrus by ISIS, which is currently being integrated into a modern operational platform. Your expertise will ensure seamless connectivity, optimal performance, and continuous improvement of the system. Additionally, you will develop a deep understanding of Papyrus Query Language (PQL) and oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of the system, including its integration with microservices and other components supporting our insurance processes.

Qualifications

• A degree in (Business) Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in IT.
• Initial experience in configuring and operating cloud environments, preferably on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Hands-on experience with third-party software operation, including customization and ongoing improvements.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, PQL, Spring, with optional knowledge of Angular and Python.
• Experience in developing and maintaining microservices using REST APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies like Google Cloud Functions, Terraform, Jenkins, and testing frameworks such as JUnit, Jest, and Cypress.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Splunk and Grafana, along with version control systems such as Gitlab or similar.
• Understanding of Clean Code principles, agile methodologies, and a strong team-oriented mindset.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality, stable operation of the output management system by managing lifecycle processes, patching, and customizing the software to meet user needs.
• Take technical ownership of the product, monitor vendor updates, and develop necessary extensions to enhance functionality and user experience.
• Design and implement scalable, future-proof architecture for output management leveraging Google Cloud technologies.
• Administer Papyrus within the Google Cloud environment, ensuring its optimal performance and exploring innovative applications such as integration with proprietary AI solutions.
• Develop and implement robust connectors within the insurance-specific enterprise architecture to facilitate seamless data flow and system integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technological solutions with strategic business goals.
• Continuously improve system performance, security, and reliability through proactive monitoring and updates.
