About The Role

The Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund is seeking a highly skilled Senior SOAR Software Engineer to join its Security Operations Center (SOC) team. This pivotal role is based in either Berlin or Würzburg and involves working within the department 16 "Unternehmenssicherheit," which handles IT and physical security, data protection, confidentiality, emergency management, and cross-sectional tasks. The Senior SOAR Software Engineer will be instrumental in enhancing the organization’s cybersecurity posture by integrating, automating, and maintaining security systems to detect and respond to cyber threats effectively.

The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating SOC systems with existing infrastructure, developing automation solutions, and supporting the continuous improvement of security operations. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contribute to national security, and collaborate with a motivated team dedicated to safeguarding critical information assets. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a university degree (Bachelor, Diplom) in IT or an equivalent qualification, such as specialized IT training or a completed vocational IT education with relevant experience. Extensive professional experience in IT security, particularly in automation, system integration, and security operations, is essential. Proven expertise in scripting languages like Bash, JavaScript, and ideally Go is required, along with comprehensive knowledge of data center infrastructure, operating systems (Linux and Windows), container environments, and network protocols. Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. The candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills, coordination abilities, and a self-organized, responsible work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Integrate SOC systems into existing platforms such as ticketing systems and log sources through APIs and other interfaces, developing automation workflows to streamline security processes.
• Gather and analyze requirements for automation and integration solutions, providing consulting support to other teams within the organization.
• Continuously enhance automation processes and integrations to improve operational efficiency and security posture.
• Operate, maintain, and monitor SOC systems to ensure optimal performance and security readiness.
• Support the adoption and transition to new platform technologies, including conducting proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation on system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.
