About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Embedded Linux Developer (w/m/d) to join our innovative software team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing and developing embedded Linux platforms that serve as the backbone of our advanced medical devices. Your expertise will contribute to creating reliable, high-performance solutions that meet the rigorous demands of modern medical applications.

As an Embedded Linux Developer at NDI Europe GmbH, you will be responsible for developing Linux kernel modules and device drivers for various hardware components, ensuring their seamless integration into embedded systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze system requirements, support hardware-software integration, and troubleshoot complex issues. Your work will directly impact the performance, stability, and functionality of our medical technology solutions.

Qualifications

• A completed degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of professional experience in embedded Linux development.
• Strong proficiency in C programming, with good knowledge of C++.
• Practical experience in developing Linux kernel modules and device drivers.
• Familiarity with embedded Linux build systems such as Yocto or Buildroot.
• Knowledge of hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART.
• Experience with development tools including Git, cross-compilation environments, and debugging tools.
• A solid understanding of Linux kernel architecture and system internals.
• Structured, independent working style with a high level of quality awareness.
• Excellent communication skills in English, enabling effective collaboration in an international team.

• Develop and maintain Linux kernel modules and device drivers for various hardware components, ensuring stability and performance.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to analyze system requirements and support hardware integration.
• Implement user-space applications in C/C++ to extend system functionalities.
• Customize embedded Linux distributions using build systems like Yocto or Buildroot to meet project specifications.
• Conduct code reviews, performance analyses, and debugging activities to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Document technical specifications, design decisions, and system configurations comprehensively.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
