About The Role
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Mid to Senior Software Engineer (m/w/d) with a focus on automation and artificial intelligence to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and enhancing automation solutions for our clients within the energy sector. You will work closely with both internal teams and clients to design innovative solutions that leverage AI and automation technologies to optimize energy processes. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence real-world projects, implement scalable automation strategies, and work on modern tech topics with tangible product impacts. Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess several years of experience as a software engineer, preferably with a background in automation or platform development. Strong programming skills in at least one modern language are essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience with automation technologies such as RPA, iPA, or agent-based systems; familiarity with tools like UiPath or n8n is advantageous but not mandatory. Experience in designing and implementing complex processes, as well as backend expertise in APIs, data integration, and event messaging, is required. Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, containerization, observability, and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, is highly desirable. Fluency in German is necessary for client and team communication, with proficiency in English considered a plus. Industry experience in energy or regulated B2B environments, along with familiarity with SAP interfaces (notably IS-U/S/4HANA Utilities) or other energy-specific systems like Wilken or Schleupen, will be viewed favorably. Awareness of data protection regulations such as GDPR and upcoming EU AI legislation is also beneficial.
Responsibilities
Your daily responsibilities will include developing and deploying "Automation as a Service" solutions, which involves building and operating automated processes for energy industry clients. You will be tasked with the continuous technological advancement of our automation and AI services, ensuring they meet evolving industry standards and client needs. Direct collaboration with customers will be a key aspect of your role, requiring clear communication and understanding of client requirements. You will also participate in designing scalable automation architectures, integrating various systems and data sources, and ensuring the robustness and security of automation workflows. Additionally, you will contribute to the documentation, testing, and optimization of automation processes, supporting the deployment and maintenance of solutions in cloud environments, and sharing expertise within the team to foster innovation and best practices.
