About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead AI Developer to join our dynamic AI development team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying enterprise-grade Agentic AI and Machine Learning solutions tailored to SAP’s internal business units. You will work within a global, agile environment alongside data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and software developers to create innovative solutions that drive operational efficiency and strategic decision-making. Your expertise will guide the development lifecycle from proof of concept to full production deployment, ensuring that our AI solutions are reliable, scalable, and compliant with industry standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead cutting-edge AI initiatives, influence technological advancements, and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, coupled with extensive industry experience in AI and software engineering. You should demonstrate strong proficiency in Python programming, with a solid understanding of distributed computing frameworks, data modeling, and ETL processes. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and enterprise-grade AI architectures is essential. Candidates must have exceptional skills in implementing AI/ML algorithms, statistical models, and deploying scalable solutions. Additionally, experience with backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django, along with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes, is required. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, MLOps practices, and cloud services such as Azure ML, AWS, or Databricks will be highly valued. Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in German is a plus. The candidate should possess a proactive problem-solving mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a global, agile team of data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and software developers to design and develop Agentic AI and ML solutions, managing the entire end-to-end lifecycle.
- Lead the development and optimization of advanced AI architectures and solutions across various business domains, ensuring scalability and robustness.
- Design, develop, and deploy AI services and solutions, transitioning from proof of concept to full enterprise deployment.
- Implement enterprise-grade MLOps and LLMOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and ongoing model training workflows.
- Ensure the reliability, observability, and compliance of deployed AI solutions, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing, and engineering excellence.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and ML technologies, acting as a thought leader and driving innovative initiatives within the team.
