About The Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team at one of our locations in Salzgitter, Hannover, Sarstedt, or Lüneburg. This role is crucial in advancing our digital transformation initiatives, focusing on developing data-driven solutions to optimize network operations and asset management. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ensuring the availability and quality of data for analytical and operational purposes. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to building modern reporting tools, such as Power BI dashboards, and support the integration of diverse data sources from operational systems, geoinformation, and asset management platforms. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, safety, and scalability of our energy networks, supporting the company's strategic goals in the evolving energy landscape.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess a university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field, or have equivalent professional experience. You should have hands-on experience with data engineering tools and technologies, including Power BI, Databricks, Python, SQL, Git, and CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of ETL processes, REST APIs, and cloud infrastructure management is essential. Strong analytical and conceptual skills are required to understand complex data structures and translate business requirements into technical solutions. You should demonstrate a structured, process-oriented working style, with the ability to work independently and proactively within a team. Fluency in German and English (C1 level) is necessary for effective communication across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reporting and analysis solutions, primarily using Power BI, ensuring continuous and reliable data provision for various business units.
• Analyze business requirements, design IT concepts and architectures, and coordinate their implementation with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ensure integration of data from operational systems such as control systems, measurement data, geoinformation, and asset management to support analytical applications, reports, and operational processes.
• Model data, analyze source structures, and design, implement, and operate ETL processes—from data extraction and transformation to deployment in Power BI.
• Assist in building, configuring, and monitoring cloud and database infrastructures, including interface processes and data interfaces.
• Prepare data from various sources for different use cases, such as digital network processes, analytical models, or operational applications, ensuring data quality and usability.
