Software Engineer (m/w/d)
A leading global organisation in the reinsurance and insurance sector is looking for a Software Engineer (m/w/d). The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining Mainframe Cobol and DB2 stored procedures to meet support and project requirements. You will collaborate closely with business and IT teams to translate requirements into technical specifications and application code.
What you'll be doing
• Design and maintain Mainframe Cobol and DB2 stored procedures
• Support custom C-based frameworks and interface with business teams
• Partner with IT support teams including DBAs for implementation
• Develop and execute unit tests and integration scripts for validation
• Resolve incidents and provide technical business support for applications
What we're looking for
• Degree in Computer Science, Economics, or equivalent professional experience
• Proficiency in COBOL, DB2, JCL, SQL, and Mainframe programming
• Experience with Endevor, Quick3270, and database modelling
• Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of the software delivery lifecycle
• Professional communication skills in both German and English
