About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in Berlin. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, ensuring it remains reliable, scalable, and secure. You will take ownership of our end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, driving continuous improvement and automation to enable rapid, safe, and frequent deployments in collaboration with our product and AI engineering teams. Your expertise will help monitor system performance, respond to incidents, and implement observability tools to gather logs, metrics, and traces, thereby supporting our goal of maintaining high standards of security and compliance across all environments.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Infrastructure roles, preferably within a startup or high-growth environment. Demonstrated success in owning infrastructure end-to-end and delivering measurable impact is essential. You should be comfortable working in ambiguous situations, taking initiative, and managing your own time effectively. A strong aptitude for simplifying complex systems, making reversible decisions, and creating clear, actionable plans is vital. Experience with AI coding tools such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude, along with the ability to audit and validate AI-generated code, is highly desirable. Additionally, familiarity with fast-scaling environments and proficiency in German language skills are considered strong advantages.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS or GCP.
• Take ownership of CI/CD pipelines from conception through deployment, ensuring continuous enhancements and automation.
• Implement and promote infrastructure-as-code practices using tools like Terraform or Pulumi across the engineering teams.
• Collaborate closely with product and AI engineers to facilitate fast, safe, and reliable deployment cycles.
• Monitor system health, lead incident response efforts, and conduct post-mortem analyses to improve system resilience.
• Integrate observability tooling such as logs, metrics, and traces, and act on insights to optimize system performance and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, including authentication, authorization, secrets management, and threat modeling.
• Balance immediate delivery needs with strategic architectural investments to support long-term growth.
• Simplify system complexity to make infrastructure easier for developers to reason about and maintain.
