About The Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Engineer specialized in Energy Networks to join our Data & Analytics team. This role is based at one of our strategic locations in Salzgitter, Hannover, Sarstedt, or Lüneburg. The position is initially limited until December 30, 2027, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the digital evolution of energy network management. As a key member of our team, you will develop and optimize data integration, analytics, and reporting solutions that support operational excellence, network planning, and strategic decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and asset management, to design scalable data architectures and deliver automated, real-time insights that enhance the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of our energy networks.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field, or possess equivalent professional experience. You should have hands-on experience with modern data tools and technologies such as Power BI, Databricks, Python, SQL, Git, and CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of ETL processes, REST APIs, and cloud infrastructure is highly desirable. Your analytical mindset and ability to translate complex requirements into technical solutions will be crucial. Strong communication skills in German and English (C1 level) are essential for effective collaboration across departments. A proactive, structured, and process-oriented working style, combined with a customer-focused approach, will enable you to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain reporting and analytical solutions, primarily using Power BI, ensuring continuous data supply and high data quality.
- Analyze business requirements, design IT concepts and architectures, and coordinate these with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation.
- Integrate data from various operational systems such as operational management, measurement data, geoinformation systems, and asset management to support analytical applications and operational processes.
- Create data models, analyze source structures, and design, implement, and operate ETL processes from data extraction to transformation and deployment in Power BI.
- Assist in building, configuring, and monitoring cloud and database infrastructures, including managing interfaces and data pipelines.
- Prepare data from diverse sources for different use cases, including digital network processes, analytical models, and operational applications.
- Collaborate with teams to develop scalable data architectures that support automation, real-time analytics, and decision-making processes.
