Great Flexibility for a Solutions Architect
Pros: The work flexibility here is a major plus, especially for a Solutions Architect. I can often manage my schedule to balance client needs with personal commitments, which is rare in the IT industry. The Alpharetta, GA office fosters a collaborative environment, and there's strong teamwork across projects. I've gained valuable experience across various IT infrastructure services, contributing to my career growth.
Cons: Sometimes the internal approval processes for new initiatives can be a bit slow, impacting project timelines, which is common in large IT infrastructure services firms. Also, during peak client engagement times, the workload can become quite heavy, occasionally challenging the usual good work-life balance.
Advice to Management: Continue to empower teams with more decision-making authority to streamline internal processes, particularly for project approvals. Investing further in tools that help manage workload spikes efficiently would also greatly benefit employees in the IT industry.

Good place for IT pros in Ottawa
Pros: The best part about working here is definitely the exposure to a wide range of clients and cutting-edge IT solutions. I've learned a ton, especially in areas like cloud services and cybersecurity. The team in Ottawa is generally supportive, and there's a good mix of experienced folks and newer talent. The hybrid work model offers decent flexibility, which is key for maintaining a healthy work-life balance in the competitive Ottawa tech scene.
Cons: While the culture is mostly positive, there can be a bit of bureaucracy, typical for a large global company. Sometimes communication between different departments, especially overseas, can be a little slow, leading to minor delays on projects. Also, while there are growth opportunities, sometimes advancing requires being very proactive in seeking them out.
Advice to Management: Continue fostering cross-departmental collaboration and streamline communication channels. Recognizing proactive employees more visibly would also be beneficial.

Stable Role in IT Services, Good Team Environment
Pros: Working at Computacenter provided a great sense of stability, which was important. The teams I worked with were generally supportive and collaborative, making day-to-day tasks enjoyable. There are definitely opportunities to learn and grow within the company, especially if you're keen on expanding your technical skills in various client environments. The company's strong presence in the technology solutions provider market means you're part of a significant player.
Cons: While work-life balance was generally good, there were occasional periods of high demand, especially when client projects hit critical phases. Some internal processes could feel a bit bureaucratic, and I sometimes wished for more autonomy in decision-making. It's a large enterprise, so adapting to established procedures is key, but it can slow things down.
Advice to Management: Continue fostering the strong team spirit and invest in streamlining internal processes to empower employees with more agility and faster decision-making capabilities.
