JAKS Resources Bhd (JAKS) is a group of companies primarily engaged in the integrated water works industry and has emerged as Malaysia’s most progressive enterprise. Founded in 1987 by Datuk Ang Ken Seng, the group initially commenced operations as water supply contractors and other water related works. Thereon, JAKS advanced into pipe laying and reservoir construction works. On 25th October 2001, JAKS secured a 10 years pipe supply contract from the Selangor State Government to undertake the design, testing, manufacturing and supply of pipes and fittings in Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur. Since then JAKS further expanded its business into designing, construction of sewerage treatment facilities and amongst others. Beside water construction activities, JAKS has embarked into manufacturing of mild steel pipes and subsequently expanded into manufacturing of other steel products. It is also actively involved in infrastructural projects, land development and trading of construction and steel related products in both domestic and international market. The group is currently embarking on a business transformation plan shifting its focus from manufacturing and trading to construction, property and power project development as new growth areas.
