Plan A Technologies is looking for an experienced
Senior Python Developer with AI experience to
serve as the technical engine for a high-impact AI automation project. This role is designed for a
developer who thrives on technical autonomy and can navigate the ambiguity of the rapidly evolving
AI landscape without needing a rigid roadmap.
You will be responsible for architecting the "glue" that connects advanced LLMs to our internal
business systems. You aren't just calling APIs; you are building robust, self-healing Python
applications that leverage agentic workflows, RAG, and automated decision-making.
Please note: you must have at least 5+ years of experience using Python with experience integrating
AI tools into workflows to be considered for this role.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
- Design and implement complex, multi-step automation using Python and AI orchestration frameworks.
- Build the connective tissue between Large Language Models (LLMs) and various data sources, APIs, and enterprise tools.
- Build and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines using Vector Databases to ensure AI responses are grounded in our proprietary data.
- Profile and optimize Python code and AI prompts to reduce latency and manage token costs.
- Rapidly build POCs for new automation ideas and then independently "harden" them into production-grade services.
- Identify technical roadblocks in AI behavior (hallucinations, logic errors) and develop programmatic guardrails to solve them.
Experience
- BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience focused on backend Python development.
- Extensive experience building production APIs with FastAPI or Flask.
- Rigorous approach to unit and integration testing (pytest) and clean code standards (Ruff/Black).
- Comfortable with Docker, Linux environments, and CI/CD pipelines to deploy your own code.
- Proven ability to take a vague project goal (e.g., "Automate this manual data entry process using AI") and deliver a finished product.
- Hands-on experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models (Llama/Mistral) via API and local hosting.
- Deep experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or LlamaIndex to build stateful agents.
- Vector Infrastructure: Practical experience with Pinecone, Milvus, or ChromaDB.
- Ability to programmatically optimize prompts and handle JSON-mode outputs for downstream processing.
- Ability to clearly explain the "why" behind your architectural choices and model selections.
