Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled (Senior) Data Engineer to join our Testing team at NILT. This role is critical to enabling automation, AI-driven insights, and robust data infrastructure for our mass production testing lines. You will design, build, and optimize data pipelines and systems that ensure high-quality, scalable, traceable, and efficient data management for testing operations.

You’ll be joining a dynamic team based in our newly built office and cleanroom facilities, conveniently located next to the Horgen (CH) train station.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Data Infrastructure & Pipelines

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for semiconductor testing data. Integrate data from automated test equipment (ATE), databases, and production lines.

• Automation & AI Integration

Implement automation solutions to streamline test data collection, processing, and reporting. Collaborate with test engineers to enable predictive analytics, yield optimization, and anomaly detection.

• Data Management & Visualization

Develop structured data management solutions for manufacturing data, including visualization tools that support real-time insights and process optimization.

• Project Support

Engage in projects and interface with stakeholders to understand image analysis challenges and deliver tailored solutions for image analysis and data extraction.

• Database Management

Architect and manage databases for test data storage and retrieval, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards.

Skills, experiences and qualifications we are looking for

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in semiconductors or manufacturing industries.

• Expertise in programming (e.g., Python, SQL, Java/Scala) and databases (e.g., MySQL, DataBricks, or similar).

• Experience with automation frameworks and AI/ML integration.

• Familiarity with semiconductor testing processes and automated test equipment (ATE) is a strong plus.

• Fluent in English, German is an advantage
