TMU welcomes those who have demonstrated a commitment to upholding the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion and will assist us in realizing the benefits of embedding these values into the work at every level and in every unit of the university. In addition, to correct the conditions of disadvantage in employment in Canada and to bring lived experiences to the work, we encourage applications from members of equity deserving groups that have been historically disadvantaged and marginalized, including First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples in Canada, First Nations Peoples in the United States, racialized people, Black people, persons with disabilities, women, and 2SLGBTQ+ people. Preference will be given to candidates with lived experiences as people from equity deserving groups, as well as experience working with these communities with which the University works every day. Please note that all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply and we welcome newcomers and immigrants to Canada.
In April 2022, the university announced its new name of Toronto Metropolitan University. Learn more about our next chapter.

The Opportunity
Be part of the engine that helps turn bold research ideas into real-world impact. This role sits at the centre of advancing innovative projects and funding opportunities that empower researchers and shape the future of discovery. If you’re energized by meaningful work, thrive in fast-paced environments, and enjoy bringing structure to big ideas, this is a chance to make a tangible difference.
In this role, you will lead the coordination of all SRC internal funding and awards programs on behalf of the Office of the Associate Vice-President, Research & Innovation (OVPRI). You’ll ensure these programs run seamlessly and with a high standard of service, while acting as a trusted resource and primary point of contact for stakeholders across the institution.
You will drive the rhythm of SRC leadership and program committee work—bringing people together, preparing thoughtful and polished materials, capturing key insights, and ensuring decisions translate into action. Your ability to anticipate needs, stay organized, and follow through will directly support the success of research initiatives.
Beyond day-to-day coordination, you’ll play a key role in shaping and supporting program reporting, contributing to transparency, continuous improvement, and strategic decision-making. You will also provide senior-level administrative and operational support to the Associate Vice-President, and take the lead on special projects.
Here are some of the things you will be working on:
- SRC internal program administration and oversight
- Relationship & stakeholder support
- Senior level administrative support including scheduling and communications
- Compliance and reporting
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and motivated by purpose—someone who takes pride in enabling others’ success and wants to be part of work that truly matters.
