About The Role
We are seeking a talented Software Developer to join our team and contribute to the growth of the pennylane.ai ecosystem. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and expanding our web platform, which aims to pioneer quantum software development and promote the adoption of PennyLane, an open-source framework for quantum machine learning, quantum computing, and quantum chemistry. This position involves building robust, scalable web interfaces and collaborating with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and technical writers. No prior experience in quantum software is necessary, making this an excellent opportunity for developers passionate about innovative technology and eager to be part of a transformative industry. Your contributions will directly impact the accessibility and usability of quantum computing tools, helping to shape the future of this rapidly evolving field.
Qualifications
- BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related field
- Intermediate Level: 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Senior Level: 6+ years of professional software development experience
- Proficiency with React, TypeScript, Next.js, Gatsby, and Tailwind CSS
- Experience integrating with APIs using RESTful services and/or GraphQL
- Strong commitment to code quality through automated testing
- Product-minded, self-driven, and adaptable to fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance the pennylane.ai website and related platforms using modern front-end technologies
- Collaborate with product, design, and technical writing teams to develop new features and improve user experience
- Ensure the robustness and responsiveness of web interfaces across mobile and desktop devices
- Take ownership of specific features and modules within the pennylane.ai ecosystem
- Participate in code reviews, maintain high standards for automated testing, and ensure code quality
- Architect scalable front-end systems and lead technical transitions to modern frameworks or patterns
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive the product roadmap and technical strategy
- Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of continuous technical growth

- Competitive salary range based on experience and location, with a range of CAD $100,000 – $140,000 for intermediate candidates and CAD $150,000 – $180,000 for senior candidates
