About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Software Engineer to join our Software Development department in Montreal. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our in-house applications that are widely utilized across the industry. You will lead a team of developers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative environment aimed at continuous improvement. Your expertise will be vital in extending existing systems, adopting modern development practices, and creating innovative products that meet evolving business needs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, excellent communication skills, and a passion for technological excellence. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience with ASP.NET / .NET CORE MVC frameworks
- Proficiency in C# and VB.NET programming languages
- Experience with web technologies including HTML, XML, CSS, JSON, JavaScript, and jQuery
- Strong knowledge of relational databases such as SQL and Oracle
- Understanding of SOLID design principles and best practices in software architecture
- Experience with Entity Framework and web services (REST, SOAP)
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical discussions and peer reviews
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of new software applications and features
- Oversee the continual improvement and refinement of existing products and systems
- Maintain and support in-house applications, codebases, and client integrations
- Prepare comprehensive documentation on software operation, maintenance, and updates
- Facilitate effective communication within the development team and with other departments
- Lead architecture discussions and conduct peer reviews of solution designs
- Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and excellence
- Stay updated with industry trends and integrate modern tools and practices into development workflows
