We’re looking for an Controller to oversee our day-to-day accounting operations and support the integrity of our financial reporting. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role will act as a subject matter expert on accounting practices and help drive an efficient, accurate close process. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys building and improving processes, partnering cross-functionally, and contributing to a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, banking, inventory and related areas.
- Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes for all business units, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting deadlines
- Mentor and oversee a small team, providing technical guidance and development
- Lead preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
- Prepare financial statements and supporting analysis
- Act as a subject matter expert on accounting policies, internal controls, and compliance; manage statutory tax filing requirements
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Support governmental grant reporting procedures and compliance
- Manage the annual financial statement audit and various external relationships
- Identify risks, improve processes, and support ad hoc financial projects
Considerations:
- This position requires full-time, in-office presence at our Olympic Village locations.
Qualifications
- CPA designation required
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of ASPE, IFRS, and full-cycle accounting
- Experience managing period-end close procedures and external audits
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting tools (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Dext, Float)
- Experience in high-growth or evolving environments; startup or tech experience is an asset
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience working in a multinational or multi-entity environment
- Detail-oriented self-starter with a process improvement mindset

Compensation
The posted range for this position is $122,000 - 148,500, representing the expected starting base salary for candidates progressing from developing proficiency through to full proficiency. In addition to base salary, you will be eligible for our bonus program, stock options, 4+ weeks of paid time off per year, and extended health benefits after 3 months of service.
