Job Description
Are you looking for a role where you will truly make a difference and contribute to a growing industry in Canada? ECO Canada is looking for a performance-driven individual to join the team immediately. Reporting to the Manager, Technology and Applications, the successful candidate will have a passion for the environment and experience in web application development.
As a key member of the Applications Development Team, the Web Application Developer intern will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our web applications, contributing to the development of new features, and gaining hands-on experience with real-world projects. While each member of ECO Canada has individual responsibilities, ECO takes a team-based approach. Everyone is encouraged to take ownership of their ideas and to see them through to completion, collaborating with key influencers as required.
This is a temporary, in-office role supported by funding from the Canada Summer Jobs 2026 program.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing code from other team members and bug fixing
- Test new software applications and log the bugs
- Providing technical support for existing web applications
- Writing clean, scalable code using .Net languages (VB.net/C#.Net/ASP.Net)
- Working on data reports/updates using SQL
- Contribute to project documentation (Process Flows, User guides etc.)
- Understanding integrated third-party systems and providing support
- WordPress plugin updates (with provided training)
Qualifications And Education
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Development, Engineering, IT, or related discipline
- Familiarity with one or more programming languages, such as C#, VB.Net or Python and a willingness to learn new technologies
- Familiarity with SQL queries and database concepts
- Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS and other web technologies.
- Working knowledge of IDEs such as MS Visual Studio or VS Code
- Familiarity with WordPress is an asset
