About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Android Engineer to join our dynamic software development team in Toronto, Canada. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving the technical vision and architecture of our Android applications, ensuring the delivery of innovative, reliable, and scalable mobile solutions. You will lead by example, providing hands-on development, technical design, and architecture expertise, while inspiring and mentoring a team of engineers to achieve excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful financial products that enhance customer experience and promote financial well-being.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Android development with extensive experience in Java and Kotlin. A minimum of six years of hands-on experience in native Android application development, coupled with expertise in application and data design, architecture, and development, is required. Proficiency with modern development tools and frameworks such as RxJava, Coroutines, Dagger, Espresso, JUnit, and Jenkins is essential. A bachelor’s, master’s, or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is mandatory. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate prior experience mentoring junior and intermediate developers and guiding technical and business stakeholders effectively.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical design, architecture, and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems, ensuring high quality and performance standards.
- Collaborate within a dynamic mobile team throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle, from planning to deployment and support.
- Enhance software engineering practices by working within agile teams to design, develop, test, and implement innovative technical solutions using a full stack of development tools and technologies.
- Contribute expertise on evolving technology trends and their impact on domain-specific solutions, ensuring our applications remain cutting-edge.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior, intermediate, and senior mobile associates, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
