Job Summary
We are seeking a Java Developerr with 8 to 15 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Mongo DB JUnit5 GIT Spring Boot and Microservices. This role involves working in a hybrid model with day shifts. The candidate will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining software solutions that drive our business forward.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Java/Java EE/Spring microservice API development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing.
- Designing, developing and delivering high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems.
- Designing Stateless REST APIs (Spring boot & Cloud)
- Experience in the Spring Framework and Spring boot
- Hands on experience in designing and developing Cloud based applications using Java/Java EE/Spring/ Spring boot/Karate
- Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
- Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)
- Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
- Hands on in core AWS services, uses, and basic AWS architecture best practices
- Proficiency in developing, deploying, and debugging cloud-based applications using AWS
- Understanding of application lifecycle management
- Ability to use a CI/CD pipeline to deploy applications on AWS
- Ability to use or interact with AWS services
- Ability to apply a basic understanding of cloud-native applications to write code
- Understanding of the use of containers in the development process
- Experience with test-driven development
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code
- Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
- Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review
8 -15 yrs of relevant experience
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Proven hands-on Software Development experience
- Proven working experience in Java development

Salary And Other Compensation
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $115,500 – $135,500 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
Working arrangements
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2 days a week in a client office in Toronto, ON.
