About The Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Trane Technologies. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, designing, and implementing micro-services and tools that enhance our Large Language Model (ARIA) capabilities. You will collaborate closely with development managers, AI research teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that improve our software systems' functionality and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to the deployment and maintenance of cutting-edge AI-driven applications, supporting our commitment to sustainable and intelligent climate solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex technical challenges within a collaborative environment that fosters growth, innovation, and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development or related roles.
• Proficiency in Python programming language.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks, particularly pytest.
• Extensive knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming principles and practices.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Cloud Development Kit (CDK), or CloudFormation.
• Hands-on experience debugging micro-services within AWS infrastructure, including CloudWatch and IAM Roles.
• Understanding of Large Language Model (LLM) architecture and best practices.
• Proficiency in Linux environments and automation of tasks.
• Experience working with microservices and AWS managed services such as Lambda, Queues, and API Gateway.
• Proficiency with Git version control system.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate effective teamwork and documentation.
• Innovative mindset with the ability to enhance algorithms based on evolving business needs.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and implement micro-services and tools to extend the capabilities of our Large Language Model (ARIA).
• Collaborate with development managers to plan, prioritize, and manage software projects effectively.
• Conduct feasibility studies for upgrading existing software systems and propose enhancements to optimize performance and functionality.
• Design and develop new software programs, websites, and applications aligned with business objectives.
• Write high-quality, efficient programming code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Perform comprehensive code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to standards.
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, and tasks to ensure timely completion.
• Create detailed technical documentation for new and existing software solutions.
• Participate in daily SCRUM meetings, providing updates and collaborating with team members.
• Work closely with the AI research team to incorporate the latest findings, methodologies, and feedback into software development.
• Document development processes, share insights, and maintain organized records for team knowledge sharing.
• Assist in supervising the deployment of software components and services developed by the team.
• Develop, upgrade, and maintain existing services and codebases to ensure optimal performance.
• Respond promptly to troubleshooting and maintenance tickets, resolving issues efficiently.
