About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our Travel Technology team, focusing on backend development for our travel portal. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a product that impacts real customers, from trip planning to booking. As part of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, fault-tolerant systems that enhance the travel booking experience. You will act as a technical leader, guiding best practices and mentoring junior team members. Your expertise will directly influence the architecture and quality of our travel solutions, ensuring they are reliable, efficient, and aligned with evolving technological standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 6 years of hands-on development experience, preferably in languages such as Java, Python, or Go. You should have a strong background in application and data design, architecture, and development, with experience working in cloud environments like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud. Demonstrated mentorship skills and the ability to guide technical and business stakeholders are essential. A bachelor's, master's, or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Experience leading the full software development lifecycle and working within agile methodologies will be considered advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from planning to deployment and maintenance.
- Act as a technical lead, owning the design and development of complex, multi-platform, fault-tolerant applications that serve diverse user needs.
- Continuously seek to improve the developer experience by identifying gaps in internal frameworks and tools, contributing to their enhancement.
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices, including code review standards, documentation, and testing protocols.
- Provide technical expertise and problem-solving support, ensuring adherence to high standards and resolving complex issues efficiently.
- Take ownership of architectural decisions, applying a comprehensive understanding of technology trends and following High-Level Design (HLD) methodologies.
- Mentor junior and intermediate associates, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
