About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Trane Technologies. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, designing, and implementing micro-services and tools that enhance our Large Language Model (ARIA) platform. Your expertise will contribute to advancing our AI capabilities, ensuring robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions. You will collaborate closely with development managers, AI research teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver innovative features and improvements. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cutting-edge technology, a strong foundation in software engineering principles, and a desire to make a meaningful impact on climate solutions through innovative software development.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's or master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field, coupled with at least five years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Python and extensive knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming are essential. Experience with unit testing frameworks such as pytest, and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK, is required. Candidates should have hands-on experience debugging micro-services within AWS environments, utilizing services like CloudWatch and IAM roles. Knowledge of Large Language Model (LLM) architecture, Linux automation, and AWS managed services such as Lambda, API Gateway, and Queues is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, and a mindset geared toward innovation are critical for success. Additional skills in FastAPI, Machine Learning research, or development are advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and implement micro-services and tools to enhance our LLM (ARIA) platform capabilities.
• Engage with development managers to plan and discuss software projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Conduct feasibility studies for software upgrades and propose improvements to optimize functionality and efficiency.
• Update existing software systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements based on feedback and evolving needs.
• Design new software programs, websites, and applications to support organizational goals.
• Write advanced, clean, and efficient programming code, adhering to best practices and standards.
• Perform code reviews to maintain high-quality coding standards and foster best practices within the team.
• Manage project timelines, tasks, and deliverables to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation for new and existing software systems.
• Participate actively in daily SCRUM meetings, providing updates and collaborating with team members.
• Collaborate with the AI research team to incorporate latest methodologies, gather feedback, and refine algorithms.
• Maintain organized documentation of development processes, insights, and technical knowledge sharing.
• Assist in supervising the deployment of components developed by the team, ensuring smooth integration and operation.
• Develop, upgrade, and maintain existing services and codebases to ensure optimal performance.
• Respond promptly to troubleshooting and maintenance tickets to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.
