shuriii is building the districtOS, a unified command centre for K-12 school leadership. We help district leaders, principals, teachers, and support staff collaborate in real time across instructional, operational, and business needs, all from a single platform. We are trusted by school boards and backed by Antler, Okanagan Angel Summit (Accelerate Okanagan) and Google for Startups, with support from DMZ, University of Toronto, Tribe Network, and the PS43 Foundation.

We are based in Toronto and building something that genuinely matters, using technology and real-time, actionable insights to drive better decisions and outcomes, so no district leader, staff member, student, family, or community waits months or years for the help they needed yesterday. We believe technology should connect people, not replace them, enabling collaboration across cross-functional teams to deliver faster, more coordinated, and more human-centred support.

The Role

You will work across the full stack on the districtOS platform. Our stack is Django, HTMX, Tailwind CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. Our infrastructure runs on Google Cloud Platform. You will write thoughtful, well-structured code, contribute to architecture decisions, and help us build the right engineering habits as the team grows.

You will work closely with our CTO and founding team. Your work will be visible, your input will be heard, and the things you build will be used by educational support workers, teachers, principals, and school board leaders across Canada and the United States.

What We Are Looking For

3+ years of experience in web development with a solid foundation in Django or a comparable Python web framework. You should be comfortable with modern frontend approaches and have real experience deploying and maintaining applications in a cloud environment. Specific experience or strong familiarity with the following matters: Django, HTMX, Tailwind CSS, JavaScript, Docker, and GCP or a comparable cloud platform. We are less focused on whether you have checked every box and more interested in whether you learn quickly, write clean code, and communicate clearly when something is unclear or not working.

What You Can Expect

Base compensation: [Range 100,000 CAD - 150,000 CAD] - Depends on the experience
