Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an engine assembler or in a related mechanical assembly role.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools commonly used in engine assembly.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
- Understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to workplace safety.
Position Summary:
This position reports to the Plant Manager - Power Systems and shall be responsible for the following activities:
- Engine Assembly:
- Assemble engines and their components following detailed assembly instructions, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete the assembly process accurately.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect and verify the quality of assembled engines to ensure they meet established standards.
- Identify and rectify any discrepancies, defects, or issues during the assembly process.
- Testing and Troubleshooting:
- Conduct functional tests on assembled engines to ensure proper operation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues, making necessary adjustments and repairs as required.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of the assembly process, including parts used, test results, and any necessary adjustments.
- Report any recurring issues to the supervisor for further analysis and resolution.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Participate in safety training and follow best practices for handling equipment and materials.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other members of the assembly team, engineers, and quality control personnel to ensure efficient production and problem-solving.
- Any and all other related tasks & duties as assigned.
Working Conditions & Hours:
- This position may require standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects.
- Some tasks may be performed in tight or confined spaces.
- Exposure to various engine components, lubricants, and fluids.
- The position may require occasional overtime and weekend work, particularly during peak production periods.
- Normal working hours are 8 working hours for each working day Monday-Friday with two 15 minute paid breaks, a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
Place of Employment:
Work shall be carried out at the Employer’s place of employment.
