About The Role
The Senior DevOps Engineer at Citi is a critical leadership position responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining robust application systems and programs in collaboration with the Technology team. This role entails leading application systems analysis and programming activities, ensuring the seamless integration and deployment of software solutions. The incumbent will oversee technical issue escalation processes, provide expert guidance across application development areas, and drive strategic initiatives to enhance system reliability, security, and performance. The Senior DevOps Engineer will also play a pivotal role in planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk assessment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This position demands a proactive leader with deep technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to operational excellence and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in application development or systems analysis roles
- Proven experience managing and successfully implementing complex projects
- Ability to take ownership and make informed technical decisions
- Experience with dependency management, change management, and continuous integration testing tools
- Knowledge of audit and compliance requirements within software development
- Extensive understanding of software engineering principles and object-oriented design
- Strong leadership and management capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Responsibilities
- Oversee processes for technical issue escalation and prioritize resolution efforts to minimize downtime and impact
- Leverage expertise across applications development to provide technical oversight and guidance across systems and applications
- Communicate interdepartmental dependencies and coordinate efforts across multiple teams and projects
- Resolve complex issues by applying in-depth knowledge of application development concepts and procedures
- Analyze business and system processes, evaluate industry standards, and provide strategic recommendations
- Contribute to planning, budget management, procedure formulation, and resource allocation activities
- Negotiate with external parties as needed to support project delivery and compliance
- Assess risks associated with business decisions, ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and internal policies
- Drive compliance initiatives, escalate control issues, and promote transparency in operations
- Supervise team activities, foster accountability, and ensure adherence to ethical standards
