Beginning in Fuquay-Varina in 1980, Dr. Don Lane has since expanded our reach to over 50 locations throughout North Carolina. We can be found in major cities like Raleigh, Durham, Cary, & Greensboro but we can also be found in small towns such as Biscoe, Erwin, Hamlet & Southern Pines. Our variety of locations helps us to reach every patient in every walk of life. We are truly family dentistry and encompass every dental service imaginable all under one roof.
We are proud to offer Cosmetic, Restorative and Preventative care as well as Orthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics, and Oral Surgery Services. Being family oriented is important to us which is why all of our offices offer our My Child's First Dental Visit program. We also offer Dental Sleep Medicine and TMJ Disorder Treatment. Our Cary location has also started offering Spa Amenities while in the dental chair. Pros: The best part of working at Lantern was definitely the people. My colleagues were incredibly smart, collaborative, and always willing to help out. The work itself involved interesting challenges in the fast-paced software as a service (SaaS) sector, giving me a lot of exposure to new technologies. The hybrid work model was also a big plus for maintaining flexibility.
Cons: While the team is great, there were times when communication from leadership about the company's long-term vision felt a bit unclear, which sometimes made it hard to prioritize tasks effectively. The workload could also be inconsistent, leading to occasional crunch times that impacted work-life balance. More structured career progression paths would also be beneficial.
Advice to Management: Continue fostering the collaborative team spirit. Greater transparency and more consistent communication on strategic priorities would significantly help align everyone towards common goals and improve planning.

Cons: Career growth here felt really limited. There aren't many clear paths for advancement beyond just being a hygienist, even with years of experience. It's tough to move up in this family-owned practice.
