From the moment an emergency medical situation occurs, we are ready to help with the highest level of children’s medical care possible. Helen Devos Children’s Hospital is a Level I trauma center. While we treat minor illnesses and injuries, we are also prepared with a pediatric trauma care team that provides care for severe injuries. We’re proud to have the only pediatric emergency department in West Michigan, which is designed specifically for children and staffed by experts in pediatric emergency medicine. Recognized as experts in pediatric trauma and burn care with specially trained physicians and nurses available 24 hours a day to care for unexpected or severe injuries.

Scope of work
Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider. Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.

4 Center OB Special Care is a specialty within the world of Obstetrics care. 4 Center providers expert individualized care for patients with high-risk pregnancies and pregnancy- related conditions, as well as postpartum care. Our most common diagnosis includes premature rupture of membranes, preterm labor or contractions, preeclampsia/hypertension, cervical shortening, vaginal bleeding, hyperemesis, and diabetes care. Our staff are trained in electronic fetal monitoring, monitoring, and assessing mother and fetal well-being and administering of high-risk medications.

Corewell Health West's Women's Health Department is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants or Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM) to join our growing team at Corewell Health Butterworth’s OB Triage unit/Core Faculty Team. We have added hours and are now recruiting for a .9 FTE, which is considered full time for benefits. Our 11-bed triage unit provides excellent basic and emergent obstetric care to patients >20 weeks within one of the busiest obstetric units in the country. Our APP run unit allows independent assessment and treatment with a safety net of inpatient physicians nearby.
Qualified Candidate Must Have:
Responsible for managing patients and coordinating the services provided by multiple disciplines within and outside the health system. Maintains a collaborative practice agreement with specific physician(s). Exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of selected protocols/procedures. This is a Weekends Only role. Its full time and consists of two 12-hour shifts on the weekend and one additional shift during the week. RNs will receive an additional $10 per hour plus their base pay. The $10 per hour will only be applied to the weekend shifts the RN works. If the RN is a full-time (3)12s a week RN, the stipend will apply to the two shifts on the weekend and not on the third weekday shift. This $10 per hour will be combined with shift differentials as well as other special codes. RNs will be required to work 48 out of 52 weekends per calendar year. Weekends are defined as Friday and Saturday night for night shift. RNs can request up to 48 hours of PTO on their weekend shifts as well as 48 hours of exchanging a weekend shift for a weekday shift, for a total of 96 hours ‘off’ of the weekend requirement. This would be given in accordance with unit guidelines with allotted PTO as well as peak times, etc. RNs may request 1 holiday off per calendar year that falls on the weekend. The RN would only work the holiday if it fell on the weekend, they will not be moved off a weekend to work on a holiday.

About the unit
The Neurodiagnostic team is comprised of EEG Technologists, EEG Technicians and Neurodiagnostic Assistants. These individuals work together to set up patients with appropriate equipment, allowing for monitoring and recording of electrical activity of a patient’s brain waves. This in turn allows us to provide physicians proof of any brain abnormalities. The team provides support for Butterworth, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, Blodgett, 25 Michigan and 35 Michigan.

5 West is a smaller unit comprised of 25 beds at Butterworth Hospital supporting our Emergency Department. 5W is a fast paced unit caring for a wide range of patient population. This brings a lot of variety to the patients you will care for and provides the ability to strengthen your critical thinking skills and be part of a dynamic team providing excellent patient care to those needing further testing and observation of symptoms. Types of patients with: Chest Pain, Heart Failure, Kidney Stones, Psychiatric Diagnosis, GI, Orthopedic, and Neuro for both Acute and Chronic Illness Patients. Telemetry, IVs, NG/G-tubes, Chest Tubes, Dressing/Wound Care, CT & MRI Patients. 5W Physicians and Advance Practice Providers remain on the unit so there is 24 hour accessibility which improves relationships, care team collaboration, and efficiency of patient care.

4 North is a 33-bed unit at Butterworth Hospital specializing in orthopedic, trauma and burn care. Our team works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary group of professionals including nursing, physicians, APPs, rehab therapists, and care managers to provide high quality, comprehensive care to our patients. Common diagnoses for our patient population include polytrauma, gunshot wounds, falls, motor vehicle accidents, burns, and orthopedic complications as a result of a traumatic injury. This job does not require CNA certification due to the extensive amount of orientation/on the job training provided.
