Scope of work
Performs, interprets and correlates clinical laboratory tests by following departmental protocols to assist in physician diagnosis and treatment. Prepares specimens for testing, screens patient specimens, and analyzes patient specimens for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Performs quality control procedures and assists in maintaining an efficient and effective laboratory operation.

About the unit
5 South is a 30 bed Oncology unit located within Butterworth Hospital. This unit specializes in the care of those with oncology diagnoses and a surgical population of head and neck cancers. Running central lines, administering chemotherapy treatments, and providing oncology education to its patients. Longer stays for patients on this unit are common, giving the team at 5 South the chance to build relationships with the patient and their family. Although this is a specialized unit there is still much to learn due to the variety in patient conditions in addition to their cancer. 3 MHC is a 24 bed Prep/Recovery unit at Meijer Heart Center that prepares and recovers both outpatients and inpatients for their Cath and Electrophysiology Lab procedures. The unit is open from 6am – 9pm. The majority of 3 Heart outpatients are discharged the same day and are cared for by the same staff from arrival to discharge.
We perform a wide range of procedures on 3MHC, including, electrophysiology, diagnostic and interventional cardiology, structural heart, and peripheral. Team members hired onto 3MHC will gain knowledge in all of these specialties. In addition, we perform diagnostic and follow up care to our heart and lung transplant patients, creating an opportunity for long term relationships with this patient population. Our team are experts at IV starts, time management, and managing vascular access sites.
2 Week Rotating Core Schedule:
Week 1: Friday 8:30am-9:00pm
Week 2: Tuesday 8:30am-9:00pm, Friday 7:00am-7:30pm

About the unit
Our Labor and Delivery is located a Butterworth hospital. We deliver the most babies of any hospital in Michigan with an average of 8,000 births a year. The unit consists of 28 private birthing suites, 11-bed triage, 3 OR suites, and 5 recovery bays. Our staff consist of RN, Anesthesia RNs, Nurse Techs, OB Techs and Unit Secretaries.

Scope of work
In the Labor and Delivery Unit, it is a procedural unit similar to a surgical environment and Nurse Techs help turn over the OR rooms with the RNs, help with stocking, clean up babies, and obtain baby vitals, help position patients, transport patients to postpartum floor, help cover the Unit Secretary duties when necessary to cover a break/shift. May sometimes be floated to other floors with similar training & scope of work.
Cleans patient’s environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel.
Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.

Job Summary
Coordinates the maintenance of assigned departmental revenue cycle business systems, chargemasters, or other business processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency with departmental requirements and regulatory agency standards. Accountable for tasks impacting organizational cash flow, compliance, patient satisfaction and confidentiality. Monitors and trends data for assigned revenue cycle departments and tasks.
Essential Functions
Reviews and makes recommendations regarding hospital or professional charges / fee structure, revenue cycle business systems, or related processes. Researches patient access, coding and billing requirements when new procedures or regulatory changes are introduced.
Coordinates required updating of CPT / HCPCS codes, bill edits, third party payer changes or other revenue cycle regulatory requirements.
Assists in the resolution of revenue cycle issues, such as patient access, billing or denials, and develops systems to proactively address trends.
Facilitates the development of strategies for the evaluation and implementation of assigned tasks, such as recommended changes to business systems, reimbursement methodologies, or revenue cycle efficiencies, working collaboratively with teams / task forces / consultants.
Communicates, collaborates and acts as a consultant to others within and outside the department related to assigned tasks, in order to facilitate continuity and coordination of services. Acts as a liaison to outside consultants and keeps upper management / revenue cycle team informed concerning progress / problems.
Assesses the educational needs of others related to area of accountability and coordinates / implements appropriate teaching strategies or makes appropriate referrals.
Qualifications
Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in related field
2 years of relevant experience different areas of the health system such as billing, coding, reimbursement, technology & information solutions, and/or finance. Required

About the unit
4 South is a 44 bed Progressive Neurosurgical unit located in Butterworth. In this role you will be instrumental in the care of general neurology and neurosurgical patients. Our neurosurgical patients are highly complex. We care for spine surgery patients, patients who have undergone craniotomy and craniectomy for brain tumor resection, removal or debulking and elective aneurysm interventions. Our general neurology patients include those who have experienced acute, stroke, seizure, chronic headaches and general neurological disorders including Guillen-Barre Syndrome, multiple sclerosis, and myasthenia gravis exacerbations.
