• Scoping research – constantly looking to evolve research to improve quality
• Data assumptions – clear justification of data and logical thinking

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The position of Research Associate is one of high responsibility and accountability.

You will be involved in

• Primary and secondary research tasks as specified by individual deliverables
• Excel-based templates as specified by each deliverable
• Credible and consistent base data and market shares output
• Outputs that have gone through a thorough cleansing exercise to ensure high quality of delivery to internal stakeholders
• New research ideas/topics presented to the manager

Other key responsibilities include:

• Successful, on-time delivery of high-quality, highly relevant, and differentiated research projects that provide essential elements for syndicated research projects across sectors.
• Successful, on-time execution of research projects that are essential components of consulting engagements, delivered to client specifications and quality expectations.
• Scoping – responsible for scoping out each deliverable that you are supporting. Including updating relevant documentation and leading kick-off as well as subsequent calls.
• Primary research – assist in conducting interviews with key industry contacts across a spectrum of company types, creating a detailed log of interactions and feedback.
• Secondary research – using a range of secondary sources to support primary research including – the internet, trade journals, in-house research, trade associations, public reports, financial releases, company press releases.
• Building templates and workbooks – creating Excel-based templates and workbooks for data entry, collation, cleansing, and synthesis.
• Building base data – using primary and secondary research to build credible base data; ensuring sufficient coverage of market players; creating estimates where company reporting is not available; utilizing history; ensuring consistency with related data/markets; logging all assumptions and working in a clear way.
• Working alongside manager on the continuing evolution and refinement of business/operational processes to optimize quality, timeliness, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of research execution and delivery. Continuous measurement of key KPIs in each area.

Key Internal Relationships:

• Members of Research & Data sectors, including colleagues in Research Operations for coordination, planning, execution, and support of syndicated research deliverables
• Product Management colleagues across sectors - provide research support for the planning, launch, and execution of impactful, differentiated high-quality research products
• Data team – working together to create DBs and forecast tools to drive research efficiency, consistency, and quality
• Leadership team – proactively communicate new ideas and feedback around process, operations, research, etc. to support continual improvement
• Research Operations Manager for support, performance, and approvals

We’re now looking for a Graduate Trainee to join our Penang Operations Team team.

To gain experience in Research and Production workflow and develop knowledge and skills necessary for a career in Content Operations. This will cover training in key areas and processes as well as undertaking projects and operational tasks which will contribute to the deliverables committed by Penang Operations.

• Successful completion of all training modules encompassing assignments to various functionalities/teams within Content Operations. Delivery of a project that would reflect the depth and breadth of knowledge gained across research and production workflow during the training period.

• Successful completion of each training module which may encompass. Successful delivery of set projects that have clear objectives with defined outcomes. Responsible for completing day-to-day operational tasks which may include projects from the areas of process automation, primary research, secondary research, editing & publishing, product operations and similar.

• These may include building templates and workbooks – creating Excel-based templates and workbooks for data entry, collation, cleansing and synthesis. Formatting Omdia content, including excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint documents and reports to ensure that it is consistent, accurate and ready to be published. Support E&P colleagues in content publishing and CMS related tasks.

• Responsible for ensuring that all work delivered complies with Informa Tech research & operational excellence standards. Accountable for addressing and remedying any errors identified in the work delivered. 

• Responsible for updating relevant documentations with lessons learned and to reflect current status quo.

• Successful, on-time delivery of high-quality, highly relevant, and differentiated research projects that provide essential elements for syndicated research projects across sectors.
