Qualifications
1. Similar experience of the same type ship and position in other company or Chief Engineer corresponding to type and navigational area of the vessel supervised
2. Bachelor's degree or above
3. Familiar with ISM rules and company safety management system, familiar with international and Singapore related conventions and regulations.
4. Good communication skills and Fit and proper
5. Proficient in speaking and writing English, ability to interact with global staff of various levels.
Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
6. Ability to communicate with Chinese client or ship crews will be a plus point.
Responsibility
1. Be in charge of technical management of assigned ships under the leadership of Technical Manager.
2. Responsible for reviewing the plant repair projects reported by the ship, making the plant repair project quotation, selecting the plant, supervising the repair progress and responsible for the quality of the project.
3. Be responsible for safety management of assigned ships, including training of crewmembers,ship conditions and services.
4. Be responsible for the tracking and management of the related aspects of the assigned ships' leasing and discharge.
5. In strict accordance with our management regulations, To verify & approve the purchasing of shipboard materials within budget. Approval of applications verified by assigned ships for stores, spare parts and lube oil, and supervise the price and quality.
6. To monitor HSEQ implementation onboard the assigned ship and to submit report to Technical Manager when any non-conformity is identified; take prompt rectifications against the non-conformities detected in Technical Department in accordance with the arrangements of Manager.
7. Be responsible for instructing and supervising assigned ships with preparations for ship arrival.
8. Be responsible for instructing and supervising assigned ships with all work during the ship stays in port.
9. Be responsible for instructing and supervising assigned ships with preparations for ship departure.
10. Be responsible for instructing and supervising assigned ships with all work during the navigation.
11. Be responsible for instructing and supervising pollution prevention on assigned ships.
12. Be responsible for instructing and supervising shipboard safety operations on assigned ships. To provide the vessel’s files such as drawings and manual, etc. To contact with external assistance including but not limited to shipyard, service company, and manufacture, etc.
13. Cooperate with the auditing team and take prompt corrective actions against the non-conformities identified in internal audit for Technical Department.
14. Other work assigned by superiors.
