Job Scope:
Production Scheduling:
- Create and maintain comprehensive production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and inventory levels.
- Consider production capacities, lead times, and resource availability.
- Optimize the allocation of resources, such as labor, equipment, and raw materials, to meet production targets.
- Ensure schedules are realistic and achievable within given constraints.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor raw material, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory levels.
- Implement systems to prevent shortages and excess stock.
- Develop strategies to minimize waste, especially with perishable ingredients.
- Coordinate with procurement for timely and efficient material use.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer demands, expectations, and special requirements.
- Align production schedules with customer needs and market demands.
- Communicate production schedules and any changes promptly to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain open communication with production teams, procurement, and management.
Capacity Planning:
- Analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) regularly to identify areas for improvement.
- Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance production planning and operational effectiveness.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement among production teams.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, and inventory management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food or bakery industry.
- Familiarity with bakery production processes and understanding of challenges associated with perishable goods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including production, sales, and procurement.
- Knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP),
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ISO standards is crucial for maintaining food safety.
