THE ROLE
As Despatch Planner you work alongside the Supply Chain Manager and be responsible for efficiently coordinating orders whilst managing a busy workload. You will work closely with Couriers and the Wagon Loading Team Leader on a daily basis in regards to transport and deliveries, using your relationship building and communication skills accordingly.
Some of your key duties will include:
- Review order book weekly with Supply Chain Manager to establish deliveries to be made
- Pull together customer orders, establishing priorities with our supply chain team and in some areas issue priority lists
- Work with sales managers and customers to meet customer delivery expectations
- Arrange all internal and external transport and liaise with haulage companies
- Inform Wagon Loading Team Leader of daily transport - issue loading schedules in line with deadlines
- Work with Shift Manager to maximise product handled only once and straight on to transport
- Produce standard stock requirement list and highlight shortages with sales and production
- Issue despatch paperwork to drivers
- Produce and reconcile weekly despatch report
THE PERSON
To be considered for the position of Despatch Planner, you must hold the following skills and experience:
- Experience of chasing Proof of Deliveries (POD's)
- Excellent IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Fantastic communication and customer service skills
It would be highly advantageous if you carry a background in Dispatch, Transport or Logistics Administration.
