As a DTP Designer at Hype Media, your core responsibility will be the expert editing and refinement of artwork for a range of engaging print materials. YOUR DAILY ADVENTURE

• Assist in the creation of 3D props that will be used in game environments. (Furniture, Clutter, Fabric, Boats etc.)

The Texture Artist creates, modifies and organizes next-gen photo-realistic textures of the game. They will closely work with the Art Director, Lead, Modeler and Technical Director to achieve the desired visuals.

Responsibilities:

• Create, modify and organize next-gen photo realistic textures
• Participates in the project’s artistic directions
• Anticipates and suggests improvements to solve technical issues
• Create photorealistic textures from reference and interpret artistic direction from lead
• Ability to use efficiently the textures space and to take into consideration the pixel ratio
• Texturing, assignation and mapping knowledge is a must
• Good understanding of memory and performance constraints, and know how to optimize textures while maintaining high quality
• Work closely with Art Director, Lead, Modeler, and Technical Director in achieving desired looks of models

As a Technical Artist at Double Eleven, you’ll work closely with Artists, Producers and Designers as part of an experienced team where both your technical skills and creative vision will help shape creative content. You'll help drive, refine and document tech art best practices, working with the other disciplines to ensure standards and processes are reviewed regularly to ensure efficiency and quality, within a project.

What you'll be doing

• Monitor the technical pipelines for all art within a project; from initial specifications, through to final in-game implementation and continued future support
• Identify and create methods to improve art pipelines and visual quality

What we're looking for

• Demonstrable experience as a Technical Artist or related art role, working on or shipped at least one AAA title
• Can demonstrate creativity and technical ability within the constraints of console development
• Solid understanding of current and next-gen art pipelines and techniques in game development
• Knowledge and skills in Maya and Substance Designer and Painter
• Experience with HLSL shader creation and PBR material workflow
• Good knowledge of Unity, Unreal Tech, this includes applications such as Material creation and BluePrint
• Familiarity with visual FX, lighting, materials, and post effects
• Experience in application scripting (e.g. Python, C#), especially for DCC applications (Maya is preferred)
• Excellent time management and communication skills and the ability to handle workloads efficiently
• Proactive about making things happen, always seeking a better solution, and a drive to continue expanding knowledge as a technical artist
• Experience working in an Agile workflow

The Penn State Altoona Performing Arts program invites applications for its Fall 2024 Emerging Artist in Residence in Theatre Design (lighting or costume). The residency offers a lighting or costume designer opportunities to design for a theatrical stage production and a dance concert.

Job Duties

• Teaching one introductory theatre course during the Fall 2024 Semester (August 26, 2024 – December 13, 2024).
• Complete design(s) for Fall productions and serve as a resource to performing arts students.

Requirements and Qualifications

• The Emerging Artist we seek will present a strong record of design for a variety of productions and selection will be based on the quality of the work submitted, as determined by the selection committee.
• A Master’s degree in Theatre Design (Lighting or Costume) or a related field, earned within the past five years (2019 or later), is required.
• University-level teaching experience is preferred.
