About the role
Our Adelaide engineering team are looking for experienced Aircraft Structures / Sheetmetal Engineers to join our team on a Full-time basis, maintaining our fleet of BAE146, E190 & Q400 aircraft. Working alongside the Supervising LAME, the Structures / Sheetmetal AMEs will be responsible for the performance of aircraft maintenance and workshop component repairs and for the completion of assigned maintenance tasks. You will also:
Ability to complete aircraft structural repairs on pressurized metal aircraft and aircraft components (both primary and secondary structures) that conform to approved drawings and repair instructions to a high standard.
Interpret repair drawings and OEM Structural Repair Manual data to identify appropriate materials and processes to be used during repairs.
Accurately map and record aircraft damage location and dimensions, and assess requirements for repair to ensure continued airworthiness.
Record and report any defect found during the performance of maintenance to the Certifying Employee and on the applicable Maintenance Record
Ensure all aircraft maintenance and maintenance documentation is carried out and completed in accordance with the MOE, Procedures Manuals and responsible CAMO requirements
Be responsible for personal tool control and accountability of all tool and equipment used in maintenance
Be responsible for the general condition, up keep and housekeeping of any hangar, workshop or related work areas and vehicles ensuring all issued AP, Standard Parts or Materials are stored compliantly in accordance with the MOE
Assist and support Apprentices when required
The flexibility to work in Workshops and Heavy Maintenance, and remote locations in the event of an AOG recovery.
Ensure strict compliance with Engineering WHSMS policy and procedures
Support and promote the SMS, QMS and a Just Culture
Perform any other duties as directed by the LAME, Production Supervisor.
Mandatory Requirements
To be considered for this position with NJE, we require the below as mandatory pre-requisites:
Certificate IV in Aeroskills – structures or equivalent
Structures experience in a Heavy Maintenance environment
Ability to obtain ASIC
Ability to obtain an Airside Driving Licence
Ability to undergo and pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.
