About the job
This position resides within the Applications Build team in the Information Technology department. The Applications function ensures IT application services are delivered to the various academic and operational functions of the University to enable the University to optimise operational efficiency and effectiveness.

The Senior Software Engineer (Application Integration) is a technical role responsible for building and delivering integration solutions to support the integration platform required by Swinburne IT as part of capital project implementations and BAU service delivery.
The primary purpose of this position is to work from detailed solution designs as provided by the Application Integration Solution Designer to build integration solutions for projects and to service BAU demands whilst liaising with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The incumbent will be expected to utilize a wide array of technical experience that they have gained working within medium to large-scale enterprises to provide technical solution delivery outcomes. This would include a focus on re-usable SOA services and microservices and contributing to and adhering to an enterprise data model as part of the build process.
The role also plays an integral role in ensuring that integration standards are adhered to and suggest improvements to ensure continuous maturity of the teams and technical collateral and elimination of technical debt.

Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
• A degree with subsequent relevant experience; and/or extensive experience building technical integration solution for complex projects; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
• Proven experience in building integration solutions working from requirements, solution architecture, third party and internal API documentation through the entire SDLC.
• Recent knowledge of common integration design patterns and good knowledge of ETL standards and practices.
