We are exploring talent for a potential upcoming opportunity with a major Queensland client and would like to connect with experienced Java Developers interested in future permanent roles.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on development, production support and continuous improvement, working across a portfolio of custom-built applications in a complex enterprise environment.
You would work closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, improve performance, and deliver reliable outcomes across business-critical systems.
What the role is likely to involve
- Supporting and enhancing Java-based enterprise applications
- Investigating incidents, problems and root causes across production environments
- Working alongside Level 2 support teams to resolve technical issues
- Delivering minor enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives
- Working with local and offshore/hybrid delivery teams
- Participating in an on-call support roster
What we’re interested in
- Strong commercial Java development experience (Java 8+)
- Experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs and Hibernate
- Background in application support within enterprise or managed services environments
- Experience with Oracle or other relational databases
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Comfortable working in UNIX/Linux environments
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical capability
- Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms
- Experience with Apache Tomcat / web services highly regarded
- Exposure to PowerBuilder, or willingness to learn, beneficial
