Good Vibe, but Things Can Be Slow

Working at ActivateUTS has been a decent experience. The team is solid and it's a supportive university environment, but there are definitely areas for improvement, particularly with how quickly things get done.


Pros

I've enjoyed the overall company culture here. It's really collaborative, especially if you're working in student services. Being in the Sydney office, there's a good community feel.


Cons

Sometimes the decision-making process feels really slow, which can be frustrating for a Student Programs Coordinator trying to get new initiatives going. There's also a bit of bureaucracy common in a university environment.


Advice to Management

Try to speed up internal approvals for projects. It would help a lot with innovation for student services.

Good Place to Support Students in Sydney

Rewarding role supporting students, good team atmosphere
Pros: The best part of working at ActivateUTS is definitely the team environment. Everyone is really passionate about helping students and it creates a collaborative atmosphere. I also really valued the direct impact we had on student life and the university experience. The Sydney CBD location is super convenient for commuting.
Cons: Sometimes the workload can feel overwhelming, especially during peak academic periods. While leadership is generally supportive, communication about broader organisational changes could sometimes be clearer or more timely. There's also potential for more structured professional development opportunities.
