1. Role Description

This position reports to the Financial Analyst, Corporate Financing and Treasury, and interfaces with internal stakeholders and external lenders. Cleantech Solar is a leading provider of renewable energy to corporations in Southeast Asia and India. The company owns and operates more than 300 solar power plants across the 7 countries.

The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background in a quantitative discipline such as accounting, mathematics, etc with keen interest in the fast growing renewable energy sector.

2. Specific Responsibilities

The individual will have the opportunity to:

1. Participate in day-to-day treasury activities such as cash flow management, bank account management, bank guarantee management, loan management, etc
2. Participate in financial modelling, cash flow projection, and any other related treasury tasks using Microsoft Excel
3. Participate in debt management and monitoring for renewable energy projects
4. Manage debt utilisation process by working closely with internal and external stakeholders
5. Assist in data collection and evaluation to ensure data accuracy
6. Improve efficiency and productivity of internal process
7. Gain experience with Customer Relationship Management Platform (SalesForce), Data Visualisation tool (PowerBI), and data manipulation using Excel

3. Competencies

1. Active Participation in day-to-day treasury activities such as cash flow management, bank account management, bank guarantee management, loan management, etc
2. Active participation in financial modelling, cash flow projection, and any other related treasury tasks using Microsoft Excel
3. Ability to collect, evaluate and interpret data, in both statistical and narrative form with strong attention to detail
4. Participation in debt management and reporting for renewable energy projects
5. Ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders (to develop good communication and team management skills)
6. Improve efficiency and productivity of internal process

4. Duration of Internship Offered

Must be able to commit at least 4 months, full-time

2. Specific Responsibilities

The individual will have the opportunity to:

1. Hands-on experience supporting a Southeast Asia Finance team with operations in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam.
2. Provide support for month-end/year-end closing and assist in preparation of monthly/yearly financial statements
3. Witness the accounting impact of taxes (GST/ VAT/ Corporate tax, Withholding taxes)
4. Provide support to annual standalone entities and group audits
5. Participate in automation and digitalisation initiatives (ERP implementation) to improve financial insights and reporting processes
6. Assist in preparation of key decision-making tools for management
7. Other ad hoc tasks

3. Competencies

Engage with stakeholders to understand the finance processes and participate in the drafting of policy documents

1. Active participation in automation initiatives and all reporting processes, including working with internal and external stakeholders on the whole automation process
2. Assist and prepare any required tools in the management reporting or decision process, including ensuring accuracy of data and format for submission
3. Support in all accounting activities for Southeast Asia Solar finance team, including all month end closing process to ensure books are closed on time and accurate
