- To act as the main interface with the Client organization and key stakeholders.

- To support with the establishment of the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance objectives.
- To draft the Project Execution Plan and agree with the Client and update it as and when required.
- To lead the stakeholder management plan for the project so that all parties are aligned and understand their role and input.
- Define all parties’ roles and responsibilities and manage the delivery of the deliverables of all members of the project team.
- Lead the selection of team members, consultants and contractors through the agreed procurement strategy.
- Develop and implement a risk management plan.
- Devise and implement a project communication strategy for the project.
- Set up a meeting structure and meeting chairing arrangements and process for taking and issuing minutes and follow up.
- To identify and ensure that the appropriate parties are aware of quality, safety, health and environment issues.
- To maintain effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout project.
- Lead the overall project team in terms of design, procurement, contract, cost, change and construction management.
- Manage the flow of project information between the team and the Client, through regular meetings and written communications.
- To act as the key interface on all design and technical matters, to the achievement of the Client’s objectives for the WTE, WSF and Fabios projects, so that they are delivered to the appropriate quality standards, within budget and within the time parameters given.
- To advise at a strategic level throughout all stages of the Design, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the Client’s overall objectives.
- To lead the preparation of the overall technical criteria for the project i.e. the documented technical brief.
- To establish design milestones for the delivery of design information suited to the design, approvals, procurement and construction strategy for the project.
- To advise upon the procurement of design related resources and consultants.
- To manage the design team in the achievement of their deliverables to the required quality and schedule requirements noting that the Engineering team leader (the appointed external consultant) is the leader of the design process and responsible for producing a co-ordinated design.
- To lead and minute regular design team meetings and technical meetings.
- To lead value engineering and technical review sessions.
- To manage the appointment of specialist consultants to undertake peer review of the design at frequencies to be agreed by the Client.
- To manage the design team in the approvals processes with the Client and the local authorities.
- To monitor and apply performance management techniques, including the use of KPI’s to improve design performance.
- Coordinate Contractors submission schedules for the consultant team reviews including, RFI’s, method statements, material submissions, equipment submissions, designs submissions, calculations, shop drawings, contract deviations & alternative Contractors proposals.
- To take a leading role in interfacing with the Client and other consultants, at all project stages.
- Lead overall project planning and scheduling.
- Prepare formal project progress and other reports.
